Drugs worth Rs 3,000 crore seized on boat in Arabian Sea, five Pakistanis detained

The Indian Coast Guard on Wednesday said that it has seized 526 kg of narcotics valued at more than Rs 3,000 crore from an Iranian boat in the Arabian Sea.

Five Pakistani citizens were arrested from the boat during the operations conducted with the Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad, the coast guard said.
The seizures were made near Lakshadweep on September 25, reported PTI. The seized narcotics comprised high-grade methamphetamine and heroin, said the coast guard, adding that it had “neutralised a transnational narco-smuggling vector”.
The seized vessel and the crew were taken to Mumbai for an investigations, it added.
