While the dominant win prepares the Lynx well for the postseason, most fans paid attention to what head coach Cheryl Reeve had to say after the game.
Reeve clearly mentioned that supporting transgender athletes has been one of the biggest achievements of her life in 2026. However, this didn’t sit well with former NBA player Enes Kanter.

Kanter addressed Reeve’s statement in a now-viral X post, where he demanded that the veteran coach step down as the head coach of the Lynx following her stance on transgender athletes.
“Minnesota Lynx head coach Cheryl Reeve should step down immediately. You can’t lead women’s basketball while refusing to stand up for women’s sports.
“Can someone, for the love of God, please explain to her that: Protecting women’s sports is not an attack on anyone’s existence, nor does it erase a community,” Kanter wrote on X.
He added, “Coach, if you truly mean what you just said, then put your hypocrisy aside and prove it by drafting me in the 2027 WNBA Draft.”
On one hand, Kanter demanded Reeve’s resignation, but on the other, he urged the coach to draft him in the 2027 WNBA Draft.
It seems like yet another desperate plea from Kanter to stay relevant in an attempt to revive his basketball career.
