Darnell Mooney Fantasy Week 3 Start or Sit: Too Shaky a Profile to Invest In
· Yahoo Sports
Tennessee visits the Giants and Mooney sits 79th among wide receivers in PFN’s Week 3 rankings. He’s averaging 18.8 yards per catch, but five targets on 57 routes is the number that matters, and the reckless throws from Jameis Winston are going to Malik Nabers rather than anyone else. Even if Nabers were to get banged up, I’d rather stack chips on Malachi Fields than roster a receiver we know to be limited in route tree and YAC skills.
Should You Start or Sit Darnell Mooney in Week 3?
Mooney is averaging 18.8 yards per catch this season but is earning very little in the way of targets (five on 57 routes). In theory, his deep-ball savvy pairs nicely with the reckless nature of Jameis Winston, but I have a hard time seeing those Hail Mary type of throws going anywhere besides Malik Nabers, and that means this is far too shaky of a profile to invest in.

If Nabers were to get banged up, we’d have a discussion, though in that world, I think I’d rather stack my chips on the more unknown quantity (Malachi Fields) than roster a receiver we know to be limited in terms of route tree and YAC skills.
