Cavaliers' Koby Altman gives thoughts on LeBron James joining Sixers

The decision of LeBron James to join the Philadelphia 76ers in free agency rocked the NBA. As the future Hall of Famer heads into his 24th season in the league, many believed that he would make a return to the Cleveland Cavaliers to author a storybook ending to his career. Some argued a return to the Miami Heat. James joining the Sixers felt like it came out of left field--which he explained his decision while on "Mind the Game".
Many were expecting James to head back to the Cavaliers, but instead decided to join the Sixers. However, it's not like the Cavs are in a bad position. After making a run to the Eastern Conference finals, Cleveland brings back a talented core of James Harden, Donovan Mitchell, Evan Mobley, and Jarrett Allen. Therefore, when Cleveland President of Basketball Operations Koby Altman was asked about the James decision, he isn't too worried.

Per ESPN, Altman stated:
"We can't be reliant on one outcome. I think we have too much of a good thing going in terms of our infrastructure, our foundation to worry about one outcome," Altman said at a news conference Friday before the Cavaliers begin training camp next week. "I'm not downplaying the enormity and magnitude of the decision. I just think the way we're built as an organization is we have a great foundation and a great sort of ecosystem in terms of talent, coaching staff, our performance staff and we're built for a sustainable run here regardless of one outcome."
James and the Sixers will host the Cavs in their home opener on Oct. 22 and will head to Cleveland on Nov. 6 to face the Cavs in the NBA Cup.
