Blake Treinen injures shoulder, likely ending his season
· Yahoo Sports
Dodgers pitcher Blake Treinen suffered a shoulder injury while warming up in the bullpen on Saturday in the win over the San Francisco Giants. The veteran right-hander’s season is likely over.
Brock Stewart pitched the bottom of the seventh inning but was allotted extra warm-up pitches as he entered the game. He wasn’t warming up in the bullpen before getting called in, but Treinen was before suddenly stopping.

In the top of the eighth, the SportsNet LA broadcast showed footage from the Dodgers bullpen, showing bullpen coach Josh Bard embracing Treinen, then of Treinen walking back to the Dodgers dugout and clubhouse with trainer Bernard Li.
“I don’t know if it was a complete blowout. But really unfortunate,” manager Dave Roberts told reporters at Oracle Park in San Francisco, as shown by SportsNet LA. “We’re going to get imaging, obviously it’s an IL, his season’s over.”
Treinen missed two and a half months with elbow inflammation before returning in September, when he has allowed three runs in 6 2/3 innings, with three walks and six strikeouts.
Treinen had a 3.64 ERA and 5.07 xERA in 36 games, with 31 strikeouts and 13 walks in 29 2/3 innings this season, his seventh with the Dodgers. The 38-year-old is the longest-tenured pitcher on the team.
“Obviously it’s gut-wrenching for us,” Alex Vesia told reporters, again per SportsNet LA. “Blake’s one of our leaders in the bullpen. He’s been around for quite some time.”
Treinen is in the final year of a two-year, $22 million contract with the Dodgers and will be a free agent after this season.
