Ole Miss RB Kewan Lacy unlikely to play vs. Florida in Week 4

The No. 6 Ole Miss Rebels are set to play the No. 22 Florida Gators on Saturday, and they will likely be doing so without star running back Kewan Lacy, according to Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports.

Lacy was listed as doubtful on the SEC availability report on Friday night due to a shoulder injury. He was listed as questionable on the first two injury reports before being downgraded. According to the SEC, a player listed as doubtful is "unlikely to play due to significant concerns."

Zenitz confirmed this with his report, saying Lacy is "trending toward not being available" for the game. He suffered the injury during Ole Miss' win over the LSU Tigers last week and was unable to finish the second half after leaving hurt.

He has had a solid start to the season, carrying the ball 39 times for 191 yards and four touchdowns. He has also caught seven passes for 16 yards. While quarterback Trinidad Chamblis is actually second on the team in rushing, JT Lindsey will likely be the next man up at running back. The freshman has carried the ball 12 times for 48 yards this year.

The game between Ole Miss and Florida is set to kick off at 3:30 p.m. ET in Gainesville, Florida. The game will air on ABC, with the Gators as the favorites, something that surprised head coach Jon Sumrall.
