CANTON — We're halfway through the Ohio high school football regular season.
Heading into Week 6, we're letting you vote on some first-half superlatives for Stark County — who are the best offensive and defensive players through five weeks, who delivered the best single-game performances, and who are the coach and team of the first half.

Best offensive player of the first half candidates
Ty DeGeorge, Lake
Totaled 10 touchdowns and 682 yards from scrimmage for the 4-1 Blue Streaks as threat to line up anywhere on offense and make a game-changing play.
Grady Hirst, West Branch
Only player ranked among the area's top five in passing yards (1,033, first) and rushing yards (536, fifth), leading his team to a 5-0 start by accounting for 19 total TDs.
Jonathan Lemon, Perry
The Federal League's second-leading rusher (727 yards), averages 7.3 yards per carry and has scored eight TDs.
Chase Maurer, Jackson
Leads the Federal League in rushing (873 yards), averaging 7.2 yards per carry, while also averaging 14.2 yards on his 12 catches for 170 yards.
