Despite winning the season opener, Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Kirk Cousins faced some criticism heading into the Week 2 matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers. However, he silenced a lot of doubters (including myself) by completing 19 of 29 passes (65.5%) for 253 yards and three touchdowns (one interception), leading the Raiders to a 26-14 victory and their first 2-0 start since 2021.

One of the criticisms of Cousins in Week 1 was his inability to push the ball down the field. This time around, he connected on a handful of intermediate to deep passes, including a 40-yard score to wide receiver Tre Tucker for Las Vegas’ first touchdown of the afternoon. Tucker also had a strong performance, recording the second 100-yard game of his career with a team-leading five catches for 119 yards and the touchdown.

Additionally, Captain Kirk did an excellent job of handling pressure. Vegas’ offensive line had a rough showing, giving up a pair of sacks and 10 quarterback hits. But Cousins kept getting up to lead the team to back-to-back double-digit victories, drawing plenty of praise on the internet.

Cousins’ deep shot to Tucker:

Best throw Cousins had of the game:

Is Cousins just a winner?

I certainly didn’t have the Raiders starting 2-0, but here we are. Happy to be wrong!

Are the Chargers toast? Starting 0-2 with their schedule, it’s looking like it.
