The 49ers lost wideout Demarcus Robinson in the first half of their matchup with the Miami Dolphins on Sunday afternoon. Robinson went down with an apparent ankle injury after making a grab midway through the second quarter. Robinson managed to haul in the low ball for a 20-yard grab right in the middle of the field, but he came up hopping, clearly in significant pain, after rolling his ankle untouched.
Robinson made it to the sidelines on his own, but he was carted off the field. The 49ers initially said he was questionable to return, but then ruled him out just after halftime.

Robinson had a team-high 35 yards on three catches when he went down. Quarterback Brock Purdy scrambled for a 2-yard touchdown just two plays later, which put them up 14-3 at the time.
Robinson had 50 yards and a touchdown on two catches in the team's 27-7 win over the Los Angeles Rams in Australia to open the season this fall. The 31-year-old is in the final year of a two-year deal with San Francisco.
While specifics of Robinson's injury aren't yet known, he's just the latest 49ers wide receiver dealing with an injury this fall. The team lost rookie De'Zhaun Stribling for around 10 weeks after he underwent surgery to repair the deltoid ligament sprain in his left ankle. Stribling went down in their opener against the Rams, too. The team already lost wide receiver Ricky Pearsall to a season-ending injury this offseason, and Christian Kirk is still working back from IR with a calf injury.
There are still plenty of options for Purdy. George Kittle is back and healthy, and Mike Evans had a great debut with the team after signing with them this past offseason, for example. But Robinson's absence undoubtedly hurts, and can make things difficult for an already hurting wide receivers room should he be sidelined for any significant amount of time.
