Oklahoma (1-1) looks to bounce back after losing 17-10 last week to then-unranked (and now No. 19-ranked) Michigan. Quarterback John Mateer saw his Heisman case go up in flames as he was just 17-for-33 passing for 189 yards with a touchdown and an interception. The Sooners simply didn’t look the part of a playoff contender in that one and now the team has an early hole to climb out of.
New Mexico (2-0) is clearly facing an uphill battle here against the Sooners, but the Lobos are playing well so far, beating Central Michigan 38-7 to open the season before blowing out a non-FBS team last weekend, Mercyhurst. In the win over CMU, James Laubstein rushed for a pair of touchdowns.
Which side will come out ahead in this non-conference college football matchup? Tune in on Saturday to find out which team comes away with the victory in this exciting contest.
