Kansas City pulled away after halftime, outscoring Denver 17-3 as the Chiefs defence recorded nine straight third-down stops. Walker’s performance quickly became one of the biggest talking points among fans.
However, some supporters were convinced there was something else going on, with one fan writing: “Scripted entertainment to benefit your partners at the sportsbooks Everyone in this league can burn in hell The NFL is so rigged”
Another fan offered a more balanced assessment, writing: “This was a tough one for me because the Chiefs and Broncos are both my teams, but my Chiefs looked good, Kenneth Walker is going to be amazing this season, and Patrick Mahomes looked good for someone’s first game back after an ACL injury; now my Broncos, I liked the defense at certain points, but Bo Nix has to be better, but it’s only game one, so it’s all good.”
A confident Chiefs supporter added: “I hope the rest of the league had fun last year, The Chiefs are back.”
The reaction from one Broncos fan was considerably less forgiving: “I ****** hate the Broncos. Entire defense needs to be unemployed.”
Others were simply stunned by Denver’s performance, with one asking: “bruh what happened to Denver”
Another fan claimed: “Clearly rigged for the under to hit.”
There was also a brutal assessment of the Broncos’ showing: “Denver deserve a full game suspension for that performance”
Meanwhile, Walker’s debut had clearly made an impression, with one supporter declaring:
“KENNETH WALKER DOMINATES IN HIS CHIEFS DEBUT”
