NC State a 4.5-point underdog to Vanderbilt
· Yahoo Sports
NC State heads into another big road opportunity as a modest underdog, and hopefully things will go just a little bit better this time. Vanderbilt is a 4.5-point favorite over NC State, and SP+ likes Vandy by two on a neutral field, so that line seems about right.
The Pack at the very least needs to put together a competitive effort in this game—results in non-conference road games haven’t been so good for Dave Doeren lately, so a win here would have a little extra meaning in that respect as well. This could be a springboard game for the Pack one way or the other, what with Louisville not far around the corner.

Vanderbilt is 2-0 this season and coming off a 35-26 win over Delaware in which it trailed the Blue Hens by a field goal at halftime. (Oddly enough, both teams blocked a punt for a touchdown.) The Commodores opened their season with a 28-9 win over Austin Peay.
They’re still sorting things out offensively, including at quarterback, so this isn’t a bad time to get them. Just have to make it count.
