Jeremiyah Love Fantasy Week 1 Start or Sit: A Lock Starter, Ankle and All

Love debuts in Los Angeles as the 12th-ranked running back in PFN’s Week 1 rankings, with an August ankle sprain still hanging over his workload. The past nine backs drafted as top-12 picks have dominated our game as rookies, and he should fall in line with RB1 numbers. The featured role isn’t in question, and that makes him a lock starter.

Should You Start or Sit Jeremiyah Love in Week 1?

The ankle sprain in August will likely impact how the Cardinals roll out starters in the preseason for years to come, but I don’t think it ends up mattering at all when we look back on the 2026 fantasy season.

The nine before him saw their scoring increase by 9.9% after September, another trend that I expect to continue.

Love is going to be featured, and if Arizona wants to have any chance of keeping up, it’s Love early and often. We will see exactly what his usage (and the Cardinals’ confidence in his ankle) looks like, but the featured role isn’t in question, and that makes him a lock starter.

As long as he exits this week without injury, Love’s stock can’t take a real hit in my eyes in Week 1. If you don’t roster him and you feel that the manager with him is the panicky type, I’d send a 90-cents-on-the-dollar offer and enjoy your riches.

The Cards go bye-Jets-Saints-Raiders to round out the fantasy season: you’re going to want exposure, and if you can get it at even a minor discount after this tough spot, I think you have no choice but to do it.
