Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is day-to-day with an injury and will not be the starter for Week 1 as planned, the Atlanta Falcons said Friday.

Channel 2 Sports Director Zach Klein reported he has been ruled out for the game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Tagovailoa crumpled to the ground in pain Thursday during drills with the team as they prepare for their home opener Sunday.

Backup QB Cooper Rush took over running plays with the starters during Thursday’s practice and is expected to be the starting QB.
