Four-star safety Ta'Shawn Poole was inside Doak Campbell Stadium on Monday night for Florida State's 27-24 loss to the SMU Mustangs. It wasn't just the play on the field that provided fireworks but also the pre-game shenanigans.
That included a delay of an hour and 40 minutes due to a power outage, which was later reported to have been caused by a short circuit in the main transformer. Poole stayed throughout the entirety of the chaos.

“It was crazy man,” Poole told Warchant. “But you know, I’m a Seminole, so I’ve got to do what’s best for me.”
Despite his commitment to FSU, Poole still has several SEC programs that are trying to flip him. Those programs are the Tennessee Volunteers, Georgia Bulldogs, and the Alabama Crimson Tide. He chose Florida State over Tennessee and Georgia back in July, and Alabama entered recently as well.
For Poole, his visit for the SMU game won't be his last. In fact, he'll be back in a few weeks and on Halloween for a big ACC game as well as others.
“I know I’m coming back here to Clemson, to Central Arkansas, probably a couple more,” said Poole.
Poole is the nation's No. 72 recruit and the No. 5 safety per Rivals industry rankings. He's also the No. 7 prospect in the state of Georgia.
FSU's defense didn't put on a flattering performance with Poole in attendance as they allowed 585 yards and eight third-down conversions on 14 attempts. So, the fact that it hasn't made him rethink any of his future visits to Florida State is a good sign, but winning games will help with that even more.
