Andrija Bulatovic stays at Lens, despite Al-Ahli interest

Andrija Bulatovic (19) is set to remain at RC Lens, despite strong interest from Saudi Pro League side Al-Ahli, as per a report from L’Équipe.
Al-Ahli were keen to add midfield reinforcements before the closure of the transfer window in the Saudi Pro League. The Gulf State side had a particular eye on Ligue 1 talent, having been in talks to sign AS Monaco’s Pape Cabral. That move, however, fell through. Al-Ahli then also turned to Lens and to Bulatovic. The Montenegrin midfielder enjoyed a breakthrough season under Pierre Sage last time around. So far this season, he has played in all three of Les Sang et Or’s Ligue 1 games, as well as the club’s Trophée des Champions win over Paris Saint-Germain.
And he is now guaranteed to see out the season at the Bollaert, despite, as L’Équipe report, Al-Ahli being in advanced talks to sign Bulatovic. Ultimately, the Saudi side focused their efforts on signing Ibrahima Diaby from Cercle Brugge. That deal went through on Sunday, just before the closure of the transfer window.
