Fan gets tackled by security at University of Houston season opener

College football is officially back and with that comes the time honored tradition of fans, who might appear smart, absolutely getting trucked by security guards for daring to interrupt play.

At TDECU Stadium on Saturday, the perfect mix of humidity, stupidity and form tackling all collided when a fan in a blue shirt decided to run onto the field aimlessly during the Houston Cougars' season opening contest versus Oregon State.

The fan, running with his head clearly not looking out for who might be coming to wreck his life, eventually gets blasted by a security guard or HPD officer, take your pick, who could probably run a 4.7 if asked and promptly brings him down.

Look at this beautiful tackle. Explosive, brought him down, allowed zero wiggle room for escape and raucous cheers from both the fans and the ESPN broadcast, which included Heisman Trophy winner Andre Ware.

The extended cut is even more hilarious as the fan somehow meanders his way onto the 50-yard line and gets outright confused when one security guard slowly starts to chase him, then stops. He still has zero clue the second security guard, who gets a full running start, is prepared to lay him out like Terry Tate, Office Linebacker.

As far as the actual football on the field, the Cougars utilized plenty of big plays from wide receiver Amare Thomas and a 56-yard gallop from Re'Shaun Sanford II to put away the upset minded Beavers 33-20. Connor Weigman thew for 305 yards, Keisean Henderson made a one play appearance and the offense put up College Football 27 numbers owith an additional 228 yards rushing.

The box score might read that the Coogs defense had four sacks on the day but the sweetest one came from someone who didn't suit up in red and white. Or walk out behind a slab to kick off the season.
