No. 16 Duncanville vs. Allen football: Live score updates from Texas clash

· Yahoo Sports

Two of Texas high school football’s most storied programs meet Friday night when Duncanville, ranked No. 16 in this week's USA TODAY Sports Super 25 rankings, travels to Eagle Stadium to take on Allen in a Lone Star State showdown.

The 7 p.m. CT kickoff marks the opening game of the 2026 Texas high school football season for both teams — and a rematch of last year’s Class 6A Division I state semifinal. Duncanville dominated that matchup 31-9 in December, handing Allen its only loss of a 14-1 season.

The Panthers enter the season coming off a 12-2 campaign and a trip to the state championship game. They return Purdue commit Trenton Yancey, who accounted for 17 touchdowns last season, along with four-star offensive lineman Kendrick Harris, one of the nation's top players in the Class of 2028. Quarterback Maximus The Great Denson is also back to lead the Duncanville offense.

Allen counters with a young but highly touted roster. Sophomore quarterback Ty Snell, a top national prospect in the Class of 2029, takes over after throwing for 1,030 yards and 10 touchdowns as a freshman. Sophomore linebacker Raiden Johnson and wide receiver Zach Williams are among the other players expected to make an immediate impact.

The matchup features more than 30 players with FBS offers and two programs that have combined for eight state championships since 1998. Duncanville has won two of the past three meetings, including last year's semifinal.
