As part of the celebration for America 250, MLB’s content team has been putting together 25 top-10 lists to honor the history of the game. Today’s list featured 10 of the nastiest pitches in MLB history. The list featured pitches like Nolan Ryan’s fastball, Clayton Kershaw’s curveball, and Mariano Rivera’s cutter. It’s a fun trip down baseball memory lane, but what about the Colorado Rockies?

The pitching history of the Rockies is obviously not that great and mostly forgettable. Still, some pitchers have had a signature pitch that comes to mind when they are mentioned.
For example, whenever I think of sliders, my thoughts immediately turn to Adam Ottavino. The absolute frisbee he would sling across the zone, particularly in 2018, will be etched in my memory forever. To this day, I consider him the gold standard for sliders in Colorado.
