Vancouver Whitecaps acquire midfielder Emrick Fotsing

Vancouver Whitecaps FC have acquired midfielder Emrick Fotsing from Canadian Premier League side Vancouver FC, the club announced Wednesday.
The 18-year-old Canadian youth international is under contract through the 2029-30 MLS season with an option for 2030-31.
Fotsing will be on loan with Vancouver FC for the remainder of the 2026 CPL season, then join Whitecaps FC ahead of the 2027 MLS Sprint Season.
"Emrick is a player we have been watching closely," said Axel Schuster, Whitecaps FC sporting director. "He has continued his development, going from the CF Montréal Academy to Vancouver FC and impressing with Canada’s youth national teams.
"He has shown the technical ability, intelligence, and character to compete at a high level, while still having room to grow. We will continue to keep a close eye on his development in Langley with head coach Martin Nash and assistant coach Nick Dasovic, and we look forward to bringing him into our group in the coming months."
Fotsing has scored four goals in 39 matches with Vancouver FC. Internationally, he co-captained Canada at the 2026 Concacaf U-20 Championship as they qualified for the 2027 FIFA U-20 World Cup.
