Sophia Wilson's goal gives the Portland Thorns a 1-0 win over Denver

Sophia Wilson scored her 10th goal of the season and the Portland Thorns downed the Denver Summit 1-0 on Saturday night.

In other action across the National Women’s Soccer League, the North Carolina Courage topped the Boston Legacy 2-1; and the Kansas City Current played to a 1-1 draw with the Seattle Reign.

Wilson finished in the 44th minute after a through ball from Thorns midfielder Jessie Fleming. It is the fourth time she has reached double digit goals in goals in an NWSL season.

Mackenzie Arnold made three saves for her eighth clean sheet of the season. It was the first shutout for Portland (11-6-4) in seven games.

The Thorns honored former player Tobin Heath prior to the match at Portland's Providence Park.

Denver (6-8-6) was without midfielder Lindsey Heaps due to a knee injury.

Sanchez’s stoppage time penalty kick lifts the Courage

Ashley Sanchez had a pair of goals, including the winning penalty kick in stoppage time, to give the Courage (10-7-3) the win at home.

Sanchez also scored in the 10th minute and her 13 goals this season is the most in the NWSL.

Aïssata Traoré's goal for Boston in the 92nd minute was initially disallowed, however, after a lengthy video review, it was allowed to stand.

Boston gave up their its league-high eighth penalty kick in stoppage time. After defender Bianca St-Georges tripped Maycee Bell, Sanchez converted in the 107th.

The Legacy (5-11-5) have now dropped three straight matches.

Current and Reign settle for 1-1 draw

Debinha converted a penalty kick in the 51st minute to pull the Current (9-8-4) into a draw with Seattle.

Off a short corner kick, Sofia Huerta’s cross found Ainsley McCammon for the header which led to an own goal for visiting Seattle (9-8-4) in the 11th minute.

Debinha scored on the penalty kick after a hand ball was called in the box.
