One person was fatally shot by a Toronto Police officer Saturday afternoon in North York following what authorities say was an “interaction” with the individual.
Police said in a social media update that reports were called in at approximately 1:25 p.m. for a person in a damaged vehicle driving erratically in the Wilson and King High Aves. area, near Hwy. 401 and Allen Rd.
According to police, the driver of the vehicle was involved in a collision and the individual attempted to flee the scene.
Cops then arrived and, “as a result of the interaction with the suspect, an officer discharged their firearm,” police said.
