Indiana Fever star Sophie Cunningham would go into business with only one of her current and former WNBA colleagues.

The 30-year-old Cunningham is still in the prime of her WNBA career, enjoying a huge popularity boost over the 2026 season away from the court while she and the Fever compete for a title on the court.

The world of business and media will eventually be where Cunningham settles after her WNBA career is over, and she has a hilarious dream business idea in mind.

Sophie Cunningham had jokes while discussing a potential business with Diana Taurasi

Cunningham was asked by Front Office Sports which WNBA player she would like to go into business with, and the Fever star was quick to name WNBA legend Diana Taurasi.

“I’d probably go Diana Taurasi because she has the finances. Then the business would be like being on a yacht in the lake or the ocean, drinks flowing, you’re getting a nice tan. But obviously, on her budget.”

Cunningham was clearly giving a funny answer while acknowledging Taurasi’s status as one of the most successful WNBA players in terms of off-court earnings, something she would have seen firsthand during their time on the Phoenix Mercury together (2019-2024).

Taurasi made $1.3 million over her 20-year WNBA career, but her main wealth driver was the glittering European basketball career she enjoyed in her prime.

While it’s unconfirmed, reports suggest Taurasi made about $1 million per season in Russia in the late 2010s, with UMMC Ekaterinburg even paying her to skip the 2015 WNBA season to stay healthy for them, leading to Taurasi skipping a title-defense year in the WNBA.

Her current net worth is estimated to be around $5 million, which would rank her as one of the richest WNBA players of her era.

Sophie Cunningham’s 2026 net worth

Cunningham is making $665,000 on her contract with the Fever this season and has made over $1.3 million in total WNBA career earnings.

Her recent popularity boom might rapidly change this figure, but as of August 20, 2026, Cunningham’s net worth is estimated to be $2-3 million.

She has major brand partnerships with Adidas (signature shoe), Arby’s, Marriott Bonvoy, and many other brands.

With her recent popularity and reported inquiries over a potential book deal, Cunningham is in a strong position to leverage her fame and popularity into a multi-million-dollar business empire.
