The New York Yankees need Aaron Judge back in the lineup if they want to have any chance of making a deep run this season in the postseason.

On Tuesday, Yankees manager Aaron Boone shared that Judge will begin a hitting progression this week. The Athletic's Chris Kirschner shared the news on X.
"Aaron Judge will begin his hitting progression this week, Boone said," Kirschner wrote on X.
This is the best news that the Yankees have gotten about Judge in months. He hasn't played in a game since May 31. The Yankees have been able to stay afloat. Right now, the Yankees are in second place in the American League East and have the No. 1 American League Wild Card spot with a 69-55 record. But there's no chance that the Yankees will be able to compete with a team like the Los Angeles Dodgers if they don't have Judge in the lineup.
There's a real chance that the Yankees wouldn't be able to take down the Tampa Bay Rays or the Boston Red Sox without Judge as well.
Kicking off a hitting progression doesn't mean that Judge is going to be ready to play in games tomorrow, but this is a clear sign that his time is coming and we will see him again this season, barring a setback.
