The 36-year-old tight end produced a sharp route that sent Gilman out of the play, and the clip quickly sparked plenty of reactions online.

Kelce is entering his 14th NFL season after a campaign in which he recorded 851 receiving yards, 76 receptions and five touchdowns.

Travis Kelce leaves Chiefs fans impressed with Alohi Gilman move

The clip was only one training camp rep, but fans were quick to make plenty of noise about it.

Kelce has faced questions over whether age is finally catching up with him after three consecutive seasons without reaching 1,000 receiving yards. He also reportedly considered retirement during the off-season before signing a three-year, $54.7 million extension with Kansas City.

This latest moment offered a reminder of what Kelce can still do when he gets into space.

Fans were largely split between laughing at Gilman’s expense and celebrating the veteran tight end.

One supporter joked: ‘Bro finna get his a** clamped up all year😂’

Another wrote: ‘Getting juked in slow motion is crazy.’

There was also a more emotional reaction to seeing Kelce still making defenders look uncomfortable at 36.

‘It’s crazy but I actually get sad when I see the superstars start to lose a step man I really hate that sh** smh,’ one fan admitted.

Another Chiefs supporter was less sympathetic towards Gilman, posting: ‘Nahhhh not my guy Gilman 😭😭 got broke off on that weak sh** 😭’

The jokes kept coming, with one fan asking: ‘That can’t be a real human on defence 🤣🤣🤣’

Perhaps the most amusing reaction linked Kelce’s enormous popularity outside football.

‘NFL said we want those Swifties views, let Travis win,’ one fan wrote.

Another simply added: ‘Number 17 just doing the job and making bro look good.’

Kelce’s numbers dipped last season, with 108 targets and 76 catches compared with 133 targets and 97 receptions in 2024.

But this was exactly the sort of clip his supporters wanted to see before the regular season. One practice rep does not prove everything, but Kelce getting separation remains a very good sign for the Chiefs.
