CAMERON WALDECK-COOKS BROTHER REPOSTS HEARTBREAKING WORDS

On his TikTok account, Cameron Waldeck-Cooks’ brother, also named Ethan, reshared several poignant posts.

Many of them were about the loving relationships between “big sisters and little brothers”. Another was from a TikToker who had lost a sibling. The caption over the video read: “I miss my big sister”

A third was a TikTok by a man giving advice on what not to say to someone grieving a loved one.

Ethan also reposted several tributes dedicated to his sister, including one from anti-gender-based violence activist, Women For Change

Cameron Waldeck-Cooks’ family have hinted that GBV was a contributing factor to her death, allegedly at the hands of her boyfriend, Ethan Coetzee.

On Facebook, her father, Derrick Cooks, as well as other family members, have posted images of her with a purple ribbon icon, which, among other things, honours survivors and remembers victims of intimate partner abuse.

‘MURDER’

Cameron Waldeck-Cooks’ brother has also made an Instagram post about his sister’s death, which he labelled a “murder”

The teen – also a student of St Stithians – shared in the viral post: “My sister, Cameron Waldeck-Cooks, was found dead…Her corpse lay lifeless, with injuries in several parts of her body. She was murdered by Ethan Coetzee. There was no drug overdose, no poison, no suicide pact. Ethan Coetzee suffocated my sister to death by strangulation. She did not pass peacefully.

He continued: “And while both passings affect many lives in diverse ways, I will not sit by myself and watch as people celebrate my sister’s murderer. He was a brother to me, he always treated me with kindness and respect, and he enlightened my family. But to me, all his virtuous deeds mean nothing now.

“My sister was only 17 years old and had her life taken away from her. I know my sister and what she stands for. And that is to speak up”
