Krispy Kreme Is Getting 6 New Pokémon-Themed Donuts

· IGN

Krispy Kreme has announced a Pokémon doughnut collection that will be available for a limited time starting August 18.

The collection, which is exclusive to U.S. and Canadian locations, will include six doughnuts total. Five are themed after specific Pokémon, including all three Gen 1 starters and two more Kanto region favorites. The sixth doughnut is an interpretation of the classic Poké Ball.

Visit betsport.cv for more information.

The doughnuts will be available for purchase individually or as a ‘Specialty Dozen Pack’ in select Krispy Kreme stores and through the Krispy Kreme app. A separate six-pack that skips out on Squirtle and Bulbasaur, replacing them with plain glazed doughnuts, will be available at other retailers like Walmart, Kroger, and Publix.

If you opt for the full Specialty Dozen, you’ll get a special, limited-edition Pokémon box. Krispy Kreme will also be offering five different Pokémon-themed cups for serving 'Original Glazed Gold Dots,' its version of doughnut holes.

That’s not all. Next Saturday, August 22, anyone who wears Pokémon merch to a participating Krispy Kreme location will get a free original glazed doughnut. It would have been nice if the freebie was Pokémon-themed, but a deal is a deal.

Krispy Kreme x Pokémon Doughnuts

  • Bulbasaur Doughnut – an Original Glazed® doughnut dipped in vanilla flavored icing and topped with frosting and a Bulbasaur piece.
  • Charmander Doughnut – an unglazed shell doughnut with chocolate and toasted marshmallow flavored filling, dipped in orange colored caramel icing and sparks of red and gold sugar, topped with a Charmander piece.
  • Squirtle Doughnut – an Original Glazed® doughnut piped with cotton candy flavored buttercreme, dipped in sanding sugar and nonpareils, and topped with a surfing Squirtle piece.
  • Pikachu Doughnut – an unglazed shell filled with lemon flavored Kreme™ filling dipped in vanilla icing, decorated with electrifying drizzle and nonpareils, and topped with a Pikachu piece.
  • Jigglypuff Doughnut – an Original Glazed® doughnut piped with strawberry flavored buttercreme, sprinkled with strawberry flavored cookie, and topped with a Jigglypuff piece.
  • Poké Ball Doughnut – an Original Glazed® doughnut dipped in vanilla flavored icing and red sprinkles, piped with chocolate icing.

Preorders for the full 12-pack have already opened online, suggesting the doughnut company may have some concerns about potential stock. Yes, the Pokémon scalping problem now extends far beyond the trading card game. This may explain why a press release from Krispy Kreme only indicates that the Pokémon-themed collection will be available for a ‘limited time’ instead of having a clear end date.

If you'd like to plan your Pokémon journey sooner rather than later, you can check for participating locations on the Krispy Kreme website.

The Krispy Kreme collection is the latest addition to a long list of Pokémon’s 30th anniversary celebrations. Throughout 2026, we’ve seen merch collaborations with companies like Puma, some beautiful new guide books, and the release of a whopping 20 Pokemon-themed LEGO sets. The Pokémon trading card game will also be getting a special 30th anniversary product drop later this year.

While we won’t be getting a mainline Pokémon game, we did get our first look at Gen 10, Winds and Waves, which is slated for 2027. We also got our hands on a new spin-off, Pokemon Pokopia, a Switch 2 exclusive we called an “enjoyable, personality-packed building simulator ” in our 9/10 review.
