Boyle County looks to win back-to-back state championships

DANVILLE, Ky. (FOX 56) — The Boyle County Rebels are looking to start a brand-new streak of consecutive state championship wins by going back-to-back in 2026.
"Every year’s different," Head Coach Justin Haddix said. “You either get better, or you get worse. You don't stay the same.”

The Rebels have won 13 state titles in total and rattled off four in a row from 2020-2023. The team fell short of their goal in 2024 but returned to the mountaintop in 2025 with a dominant 34-0 win over Franklin County at Kroger Field.
"It's a great thing when you win the last game. There are only six teams that can have that feeling in the state of Kentucky. So, that is definitely a special moment," Haddix said. "A lot of hard work goes into that, and I'm just thankful to be here and get to coach these kids."
Boyle County is once again led by Oklahoma commit Seneca Driver. The 6-foot-7, 240-pound tight end caught 49 passes for 875 yards and 11 touchdowns during his junior campaign. Driver says he isn't worried about stats in his senior season; he just wants to end his career on top.

"Just everybody's putting all their effort in, putting hard work in. I think we’ll go back-to-back just because of the mentality we have this year,” Driver said. “Don't be like the team that didn't win; that didn't get remembered."
The Rebels kick off their season on Saturday, Aug. 22, against Owensboro Catholic at Rafferty's Bowl at Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green.
