Former Clemson corner carted off Ravens practice with leg injury

Former Clemson corner Nate Wiggins was carted off the practice field Tuesday after suffering an apparent left-leg injury during Baltimore Ravens training camp.
Wiggins was injured during a one-on-one drill after becoming tangled with rookie wide receiver Ja’Kobi Lane. According to reports, the former Tiger appeared to be in pain and struggled to put weight on the leg before being taken inside for further evaluation.

Ravens head coach Jesse Minter said Wiggins was undergoing medical tests but expressed some optimism regarding the situation. No official diagnosis or timeline has been announced.

Wiggins is entering his third NFL season and has developed into an important part of the Ravens’ secondary. He started all 17 games last season, recording 76 tackles and three interceptions.
Baltimore selected Wiggins with the 30th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft after his standout career at Clemson. The Atlanta native finished his college career with 50 tackles, 24 pass breakups, three interceptions, two forced fumbles, a sack, and a blocked field goal across 34 games.
He returned interceptions for touchdowns in both 2022 and 2023, including a 98-yard pick-six in the ACC Championship Game. That return remains an ACC Championship Game record. He became the first Clemson player since Rex Varn in 1977 and 1978 to record interception-return touchdowns in consecutive seasons.

The former first-team All-ACC selection has already overcome injuries during his young professional career, including offseason surgery and a foot issue last season. Still, the severity of Tuesday’s injury remains unclear until Baltimore completes its testing.
