Florence Speedway favorite Josh Rice of Crittenden, Ky., won a wild lead-swapping duel with Jonathan Davenport over the final two laps Saturday — his only laps led of a chaotic 100-lapper that took nearly two hours to complete — to capture the $75,000 Sunoco North-South 100.
Rice, who changed four tires over three pit stops and endured a broken shock, stormed into contention late to challenge Davenport, who rebounded from a lap-51 wreck and wrestled the lead from Devin Moran with 16 laps remaining.

Rice and Davenport twice swapped the lead over the final two circuits before Rice prevailed for the biggest victory of his career. The marathon feature was marred by a lap-11 frontstretch melee involving more than half the field that eliminated contenders Brandon Sheppard, Mike Marlar and four-time race winner Bobby Pierce.
