Rumors have spiked in recent weeks linking Bayern Munich to VfB Stuttgart center-back Finn Jeltsch. The young defender has seen those stories, but is not going to let that news distract him in what could be a very important season for his career.

“I’ve read that as well. But it’s not really something I’m thinking about. My full focus is on the upcoming season with VfB. I have an ideal environment here and can play in the Champions League,” Jeltsch told Stuttgarter Nachrichten (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).

Jeltsch has also seen his name bandied about for the German national team and the prospect of that excites the VfB stuttgart defender.

“Absolutely, that’s clearly my goal. Playing for Germany was already something very special in the youth national teams. And if Jürgen Klopp were to contact me, I would be absolutely thrilled. It’s a big dream,” Jeltsch.

This will be a key season for Jeltsch as he seeks to really make the jump to being a dependable, consistent starter. If he can do that, it would not be shocking for Bayern Munich and the German national team to come calling for him.
