DJ Warras murder: Killer reveals how much he was paid for hit

The man convicted of murdering radio personality Warrick “DJ Warras” Stock admitted that he shot and killed him in exchange for R25 000.
The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) revealed the payment after the Johannesburg High Court sentenced Joaquim Armando Pacula to an effective 25 years in prison.

DJ Warras shot dead in Johannesburg
DJ Warras was fatally shot outside the Zambesi Building in the Johannesburg CBD on 16 December 2025.
Police launched an investigation into his murder.
Ten days later, officers arrested co-accused Victor Mthethowakhe Majola on 26 December 2025.
Investigators continued their search for Pacula.
Police eventually arrested him at the Primrose Squatter Camp on 30 January 2026.
According to SAPS, officers also recovered dreadlocks that Pacula allegedly wore during the crime.
NPA reveals R25 000 payment for DJ Warras murder
The NPA has now revealed more details about Pacula’s role in the murder.
As part of his plea and sentence agreement with the State, Pacula admitted that he shot and killed DJ Warras in exchange for R25 000.
Pacula pleaded guilty to murder, unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition and contravening the Immigration Act.
The Gauteng Division of the High Court in Johannesburg sentenced him on Friday, 7 August 2026.
The court sentenced Pacula to 25 years for murder and eight years for unlawful possession of a firearm.
He also received six months for unlawful possession of ammunition and 12 months for contravening the Immigration Act.
The court ordered the sentences to run concurrently. Pacula will therefore serve an effective 25 years in prison.
The NPA said the State reached the plea and sentence agreement after consulting DJ Warras’ family.
Co-accused remains behind bars
Majola remains in custody as the case against him continues.
His matter has been postponed to 17 August 2026 for the conclusion of the pre-trial conference.
According to SAPS, Pacula turned State witness during the court proceedings.
