The Philadelphia 76ers are just months away from the beginning of a new era. An era in which LeBron James will be an integral part of yet another superteam. Among the bigwigs are Jaylen Brown, Tyrese Maxey, VJ Edgecombe, and Joel Embiid.

Despite calls for the 76ers to rid themselves of Embiid, who’s notoriously injury-prone, he is back in action. He took to social media and posted a simple caption of him in uniform getting shots up.

“Almost That Time!!!” Embiid posted.

Embiid has been with the 76ers for 10 seasons. He was drafted in 2014, but missed his first two seasons due to foot injuries. Since playing full-time in 2016, Embiid has fortified his place as one of the most effective and dominant two-way players when healthy.

Along the way, Embiid won two scoring titles, 7 NBA All-Star selections, and was the 2022-23 NBA MVP.

Going into this year, the pressure will be on Embiid to be in supreme condition. The addition of James and Brown into the mix has led to heightened championship expectations for the 76ers.

The 76ers pulled off a 3-1 comeback win over the Boston Celtics in the first round of the playoffs. Ultimately, they were swept by the eventual champion New York Knicks in the second round. Embiid had undergone an appendicitis that forced him to sit out for a portion of the end of the regular season.

With the season more than two months away, Embiid is already getting in shape for what is surely to be a season like no other.
