Jahmyr Gibbs reset the NFL running back market thanks to his blockbuster extension Thursday. Which arrived one day following Bijan Robinson’s previous record breaking deal. But Arizona Cardinals rookie running back Jeremiyah Love still holds one advantage.
NFL insider for The 33rd Team Ari Meirov unveiled Love’s guaranteed value attached to the past Notre Dame star.
“Jeremiyah Love still holds the record for the most guaranteed money in an RB contract at $53 million. Even after all the RB deals that got done this week for Bijan Robinson, Jonathan Taylor, and Jahmyr Gibbs,” Meirov shared on the social media website X, formerly Twitter.

But again 2026 NFL Training Camp has seen the summer of richer running back deals.
Robinson launched the new movement by agreeing to his landmark three-year, $75 million extension with the Atlanta Falcons Wednesday. The 24-year-old Gibbs shattered that mark Robinson hit nearly 24 hours later.
Gibbs rakes in $51.5 million in guaranteed money thanks to his new deal with the Detroit Lions. This move also comes with Gibbs likely to become the leading RB1 for the aspiring Super Bowl contender. Simply because his fellow past Lions running back star David Montgomery is off to the Houston Texans to become their leading back.
Meanwhile, Cardinals head coach Mike LaFleur can continue to build his incoming Arizona offense around the intriguing newcomer Love. Arizona pulled the stunner by taking him over quarterback help with the third overall pick in the April NFL Draft. But Love is generating quite the buzz in the desert.
Love rises as a new versatile weapon for a coach who learned from Kyle Shanahan of the San Francisco 49ers and, more recently, Sean McVay of the Los Angeles Rams. Now LaFleur can unleash the newest weapon on his old bosses.
