SASSA reminder: Children’s grant payment date for August 2026

Caregivers who receive payments into bank accounts should see funds reflect from Thursday, while those who collect cash at designated pay points should confirm exact payment times with their local site, as queues and processing can vary by location.
Fourth payment day warning for review cases
SASSA has again highlighted 7 August as the fourth payment day, reserved for beneficiaries whose grants have been flagged for review. If a caregiver’s grant does not pay out on the confirmed date and instead reflects on the fourth day, SASSA says it is a signal that the account has been selected for review and that the agency could not reach the beneficiary beforehand.
Caregivers in this position are urged not to panic, but to treat the delay as an instruction to visit a SASSA office promptly, since the grant will remain on hold until the review is finalised.
Documents caregivers must bring for the review
SASSA is asking affected caregivers to visit their nearest office before the 18th of the following month to undergo the review process. The required documents include:
- Proof of income
- Proof of marital status
- Any other relevant supporting documentation
Submitting these documents allows SASSA to confirm continued eligibility for the Child Support Grant and prevent further delays to the payment. Caregivers who do not act before the 18th risk having the review process, and their payment, pushed even further out.
For the majority of caregivers who are not flagged for review, Thursday, 6 August remains the key date to diarise this month, as SASSA continues rolling out payments across all three grant categories through the first week of August.
