Fever make it clear that they and Sophie Cunningham have no links to protests
While the protestors are protesting for Cunningham, the Fever made it clear with a PR message that neither Sophie nor they have any knowledge of the details of the protest or contact with the organizers.
“Neither our organization nor Sophie had any knowledge of this demonstration and no contact with its organizers.”
The demonstrations came on the eve of the Fever’s game against the Seattle Storm, after which the Fever didn’t make Cunningham or Caitlin Clark available for post-game interviews.
The Tuesday protest featured a few dozen protestors in a peaceful rally organized by the ‘Women Are Real’ group.
They also featured a billboard truck with Cunningham’s image reading ‘Sophie supports women & girls! Save women’s sports.’

Sophie Cunningham addresses Storm co-owner after the game
Cunningham addressed Keaton’s anger at the teenage fans wearing the XX/XY gear after the game.
“I truly believe there is a safe space and love for EVERYBODY. Biological girls, biological boys, trans women, and trans men. Everyone is welcome at my table! You can disagree and still be kind. Bravo to those girls for standing up for what they believe. You’ll be hearing from me soon, yay for gifts. Truly embarrassing for the co-owner. Unfortunately, it shows the type of leader she is.”
Cunningham had 11 points, five rebounds, and two assists in 24 minutes off the bench in the Fever’s 105-95 win. Clark led the team with 32 points, four rebounds, and seven assists.
