Vanderbilt basketball announces signing of 4-star Gabe Nesmith

Vanderbilt basketball announced the signing of Gabe Nesmith, a top 2027 recruit who reclassified into 2026, on July 27 via social media.
Nesmith was a 5-star recruit in the 2027 class per 247Sports Composite, but as a member of the 2026 class, he's rated a 4-star recruit and the No. 36 player in the class. He is known as an exceptional scorer and shooter, but he comes with defensive questions because of his size, which is listed as 6-5 and 180 pounds.

With Nesmith signing, Vanderbilt has a full slate of 15 players for the 2026-27 season.
Nesmith, who played for Overtime Elite in Atlanta and is originally from Monteverde, Florida, is the cousin of former Commodore and current Indiana Pacers player Aaron Nesmith.
Gabe Nesmith will join a roster that includes First Team All-SEC point guard Tyler Tanner as well as a number of notable transfers such as Bangot Dak, Ace Glass and Sebastian Williams-Adams.
