Twice champion Vingegaard out of Tour de France after crash

Twice Tour de France champion Jonas Vingegaard is out of this year's race after a crash late on stage 15 on Sunday.
The Dane, second overall behind clear leader and favourite Tadej Pogačar, needed medical treatment after falling with several other riders around 20 kilometres from the end of the stage from Champagnole to Plateau de Solaison.

He got into an ambulance with his arm in a sling.
Pogačar now looks well-placed for a record-equalling fifth Tour title and third in a row if he can avoid a similar fate to his rival during the rest of the race, which finishes next Sunday.
Vingegaard won the Tour ahead of Pogačar in 2022 and 2023 and was runner-up behind the Slovenian in 2021, 2024 and 2025. Vingegaard is one of eight riders who have won all three grand tours, the others being the Giro d'Italia and the Vuelta a España.
