The biggest free agent this summer is undoubtedly LeBron James, as he has put the entire NBA on hold while making his decision. James is entering his 24th NBA season and could potentially be playing for his fourth different team of his career.

James is weighing all of his options and wants to join a contender with a legitimate chance to win a championship. He informed the Lakers at the beginning of free agency that he would not be returning to Los Angeles.

“LeBron James will return for an unprecedented 24th season in the NBA -- but it won't be with the Los Angeles Lakers. James has informed the Lakers that the franchise can move on without him because he will play elsewhere, Klutch Sports CEO Rich Paul told ESPN's Shams Charania on Tuesday,” ESPN wrote.

A reunion with the Cleveland Cavaliers has become a legitimate possibility due to the team's current situation. One of the biggest factors is that James Harden is reportedly waiting to finalize a deal to help create an opportunity for James to join Cleveland. However, ESPN’s Brian Windhorst believes James could be headed elsewhere.

“I'm hearing stuff in other cities too. I'm not gonna say who but I had somebody on the phone with me today that I consider a good source who was swearing it's a done deal in another city,” Windhorst said.

Cavaliers head coach Kenny Atkinson added more intrigue to the situation Sunday night when he hinted that Cleveland could be working toward a major addition that may or may not involve James.

“You guys know there’s a little free agency thing going on right now. That could be our real jump and you know what I’m talking about. That’s exciting too,” Atkinson said.

A return to Cleveland would make sense for James at this stage of his career, especially with the Cavaliers already established as a contender. Atkinson knows the Cavaliers’ front office is willing to do whatever it takes to improve the roster.

There is growing belief that James could be seriously interested in returning to Cleveland for one final championship run. After the Cavaliers were seemingly ruled out following Windhorst’s latest update, Atkinson made it clear that there is still reason to believe James could become a Cavalier once again.
