Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is live TONIGHT (Sat., July 11, 2026)with UFC 329, streaming exclusively live on Paramount+. The record-setting event takes place inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The main event is Conor McGregor vs. Max Holloway 2 in the Welterweight division.

UFC 329 Preview

It’s a rematch 13 years in the making with Conor McGregor vs. Max Holloway 2 tonight. The literally notorious McGregor has returned without much fanfare to take on one of the sport’s most popular fighters. McGregor last competed five years ago, losing to Dustin Poirier and shattering his shin (relive that here). Since then, he’s been embroiled in major controversies, including being found liable for rape in an Irish civil court.

McGregor has two fights left on his deal, reportedly. It seems like he might be trying to fight out his contract quickly so he can move on to new pastures.

The co-main tonight is Benoit Saint Denis vs. Paddy Pimblett in a high stakes Lightweight bout. Saint-Denis can clear a path to a title shot with an impressive win here over the Englishman. Pimblett will try and show he deserves a second shot at current undisputed champion, Justin Gaethje. Rounding out the main card is Cory Sandhagen vs. Mario Bautista, Brandon Royval vs. Lone’er Kavanagh and King Green vs. Terrance McKinney.

The “Prelims” are headlined by Robert Whittaker vs. Nikita Krylov, in Whittaker’s Light Heavyweight debut (more on that here). UFC 329’s “Prelims” also have Gable Steveson’s UFC debut against massive betting underdog, Elisha Ellison.

UFC 329 PLAY-BY-PLAY UPDATES

Main card

Cory Sandhagen vs. Mario Bautista

Round 1: Sandhagen starts the fight very aggressively. He stings Bautista with a counter hook and comes very close on a high kick. Bautista switches to a wrestling approach. He can’t get Sandhagen down on the first try and ends up pushed onto the fence, taking knees. They separate and Sandhagen lands some straight punches. Bautista then finds some success with his boxing, landing some hooks over the top. Bautista lands again. Sandhagen gets some potshots off, too. But Bautistia is winning the second half of the round. He hurts Sandhagen with a late barrage and then switches to a takedown, which he lands. He tries to get a Suloev stretch in the last ten seconds. That’s a very hard round to score, but I give it to Bautista for his late surge.

Round 2:

Lone’er Kavanagh vs. Brandon Royval

Round 1: Royval takes the center and pumps out his jab. Kavanagh looks a little intimidated. He backs up and throws some naked kicks, which Royval is able to deal with. Royval keeps throwing the jab and is able to land some good ones right on Kavanagh’s nose. Royval level changes and takes Kavanagh down against the fence. Kavanagh goes for a guillotine, but Royval slips out and lands in side position. Royval manages to land a decent amount of ground and pound before Kavanagh gets back to his feet.

Round 2: Royval continues on from how he fought the first round, but he walks into a big counter that sets him down! Kavanagh jumps on him and tries to pound him out. Royval manages to survive, due to an omoplataattempt. He gets his senses back and manages to make it to his feet. Royval goes for a takedown, but can’t get it. Back in the center, Kavanagh wobbles him with another punch. They then tie up against the fence. Royval manages another takedown, but he can’t keep Kavanagh down this time. Kavanagh lands another good shot just before the round ends.

Round 3: Royval lands a big combo right at the beginning of the round. They trade a little and Kavanagh lands a big punch in return. Royval goes for a takedown and Kavanagh jumps the guillotine. Royval is able to get out. He lands some big short elbows. Those hurt Kavanagh. Royval tries to take the back. Kavanagh spins and Royval transitions to an arm triangle. It looks pretty tight. Kavanagh survives that, bu Royval gets his back and puts on a body triangle. Royval works for a rear naked choke and gets it tight under Kavanagh’s chin. Kavanagh taps and passes out just after.

Terrance McKinney vs. King Green

Round 1: McKinney started quickly. Shocker, I know. He clipped Green with a punch early, but wasn’t as chaotic in the follow up as he usually is. He manage to keep catching Green, though. Green got bloodied and looked a little dazed as McKinney walked him to the fence. Green was hurt, but kept on talking. McKinney didn’t talk back, but kept landing shots. McKinney then got a takedown against the cage. He climbed Green and got full mount. From there he pounded away with punches and elbows. Green kept talking, even though he was getting badly beat up. McKinney then started looking for the choke. He got on Green’s back, but Green managed to slip out and get back to his feet. Green then attacked, but walked into a big uppercut. Green shook it off and started firing back. He then landed a liver shot that put McKinney down to a knee. Green attacked and forced a TKO with a second left on the clock! Legendary stuff from King Green!!!

Prelims

Robert Whittaker vs. Nikita Krylov: Whittaker found the size and strength of Krylov difficult early on. He also seemed to struggle with his new weight. He appeared to get tired very early in the fight. His hand speed didn’t seem effected, though. He had a huge advantage over Krylov in that department and, as the fight wore on, he tagged Krylov over and over again with quick one-twos and big rights over the top. Krylov seemed to call the fight off after one of those rights landed plum on his jaw (possibly breaking it).

Gable Steveson vs. Elisha Ellison: Steveson gets his win, but it wasn’t the greatest display we’ve ever seen. The hot prospect, and massive favorite, looked a little sloppy in there trading big shots with Ellison. He looked like a Jon Jones trained fighter in there, with his body kicks and perhaps a little cheap shot after Ellison complained of a low blow. The end came after Steveson landed a big hook in a chaotic exchange. After he dropped Ellison he landed some ground and pound to force the finish.

Cody Garbrandt vs. Adrian Yanez: Yanez battered Garbrandt in this one. In every exchange, Yanez landed the last and hardest shot. A few of those wobbled Garbrandt. But after the third or fourth clash, Yanez put Garbrandt down with a combo. Garbrandt looked out on the way down, so he didn’t need to follow up.

Luke Riley vs. Kai Kamaka III: Kamaka started this fight well, hurting Riley with a series of calf kicks. Riley toughed them out, though. He kept coming forwards. He eventually landed a big body shot. He then came in with a straight right that dropped Kamaka. Riley was then very choosey with his follow up shots. He managed to get off a good combo against the cage for a standing TKO. Joe Rogan though it was early, but I prefer early over late. And I think Kamaka was out of this fight when the ref stepped in.

Early Prelims

Tracy Cortez vs. Wang Cong: Wang dismantled Cortez’s wrestling game early by smashing Cortez with calf kicks early on. Cortez could barely stand by the end of the fight. Those kicks effected Cortez’s mobility and also seemed to demoralize her. That allowed Wang to tee off with punches upstairs, too. Wang was penalized for an illegal knee, when she had Cortez folded up against the cage. That was a well earned point deduction, but everything else she did tonight was perfect.

Damien Pinas vs. Cesar Almeida: The craft veteran Almeida was doing a good job in this fight. He was keeping Pinas at range and battering his lead leg with low kicks. Pinas looked a little frustrated, but he eventually landed a big straight right to counter a leg kick. Almeida went down hard. Pinas could have landed some brutal follow ups, but he held off and let the referee come in.

Farid Basharat vs. Ryan Garza: Garza looked like a game opponent to begin with. But once his body shot started landing, he started to look more and more like someone who was going to give Basharat a lot of trouble. In the second round he hurt Basharat with those body shots. Fortunately, for him, Basharat was able to score with his leg kick and get some key takedowns and top position. He earned the decision, but didn’t earn many new fans. The opposite is true for Garza.

Zach Reese vs. Ryan Gandra: We are whipping through these Prelims. Ryan Gandra sized up Zach Reese and floored him with a jump left hook. He followed up with ground and pound for the quick TKO. He’s 2-0 to start his UFC career now.

Official decision: Ryan Gandra def. Zach Reese by TKO (punches), round 1 (1:15)

Cody Durden vs. Alessandro Costa: Costa hurt Durden in the exchanges in the first round. Durden came out a little foggy in the second. Costa kept landing big shots and, when the fight shifted to grappling, he totally schooled Durden on the ground. He got the back and locked up a nasty rear naked choke. Costa continues to look like the total package.
