The Minnesota Timberwolves may have gotten a steal with the No. 33 overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft.
That's when they took Isaiah Evans out of Duke after he spent two seasons with the Blue Devils.
Evans may be skinny, but he's got the kind of skillset that could work out in the NBA.
At 6-foot-6, he just averaged 15 points per game while shooting 36.1% from 3-point range for Duke.
He did less than that as a freshman as the Cooper Flagg-led Blue Devils had other perimeter talents, but Evans hit 41.6% of his 3s as a frosh.
Now, he's joining the Timberwolves, and it's official this weekend.
Michael Scotto of HoopsHype shared that Evans has signed his four-year deal with Minnesota:
The Minnesota Timberwolves signed Isaiah Evans to a four-year, $9.3 million deal, which includes three fully guaranteed years and a fourth-year team option, league sources told @hoopshype. It's just one step on the way toward Evans hoping to become an NBA contributor.
The Timberwolves won't need immediate firepower on the perimeter with LaMelo Ball and Anthony Edwards holding the keys there. Evans could prove himself useful if he shows he can get hot in a hurry off the bench.
Now, he doesn't have to worry about getting that rookie deal signed. He can just focus on growing his game and being ready for what's to come.
