How many Jersey Shore baseball players will get picked in MLB Draft?

A lot of baseball players childhood dreams will come true this weekend in the 2026 MLB Draft.

The selections will take place in Philadelphia as The Show will bring in a new class of talented ball players and future stars. There are some players from the Jersey Shore that are likely to get selected this weekend.

AJ Gracia is a lefty outfielder that played his high school days at Ranney. He's projected to go in the first round of the draft according to the MLB.com prospect list. This past season for Virginia, he batted .354, had 14 home runs and 48 RBI's. Prior to Virginia, he spent two seasons at Duke. As a Blue Devil, he set a new program freshman home run record with 14 and freshman RBI record with 58.

Another is Reece Moroney from Rumson-Fair Haven. He was invited to the 2026 MLB Draft Combine at Chase Field in Phoenix where the Diamondbacks play. He became a standout at the University of Rhode Island in the Atlantic 10 Conference. In May, he broke the single season record for most hits with 88. He's an infielder and just finished his junior season.

There's also Zach Crocthfelt from Jackson Memorial High (now Jackson Township High). He's a left handed pitcher that just finished his senior year at Troy University in Alabama. He earned Sun Belt All-Tournament Team this past season. His junior season he pitched at Texas Tech, and spent his first two collegiate seasons at Auburn. Though he's not as high on the board as Moroney or Gracia, he still can be selected.

Jersey Shore picks from 2025 MLB Draft

Last year there were two home-grown players selected to the pro level. The first was Wall High School product Andrew Fischer who was selected in the first round of the MLB Draft by the Milwaukee Brewers with the 20th pick overall. He's currently with the Double-A Biloxi Shuckers. He's been having a tremendous season with 28 homers, 64 RBI and batting .304.

In the second round, Central Regional's Cam Leiter, who played his last two collegiate seasons at Florida State, was selected by the Los Angeles Dodgers with the 65th pick overall. Leiter is currently playing in the Class A for the Ontario Tower Buzzers. So far this season he's had 16 hits and is batting .224.

How to watch MLB Draft

NBC and Peacock will be airing and streaming the draft for the first 10 picks. The 11 through 40 selections will be on MLB Network, MLB.com, MLB.TV and MLB+. Picks 41-135 will be on MLB.com, MLB.TV and MLB+.

What day is the MLB Draft 2026?

The 2026 MLB Draft will take place on Saturday (July 11) and Sunday (July 12) in Philadelphia. Day one of the draft will start at 1 p.m. ET. Day two of the draft, which consists of rounds 5 through 20, will be streamed on MLB.com, MLB TV, MLB+, beginning at 11:30 a.m. ET.
