Because it's impossible to know with complete certainty what position the Steelers will pick from in the 2027 NFL Draft, here's a look at three quarterback prospects they could target at different points in the draft: early, middle or late.
Early: Arch Manning, Texas
Manning's 2025 season was far from consistent, but he looked great down the stretch. The Steelers likely won't have a shot at Dante Moore of Oregon or Julian Sayin of Ohio State, but Manning would be more than an acceptable option if Pittsburgh selects within the top 10 picks in 2027.
Middle: Drew Mestemaker, Oklahoma State
The Steelers would be extremely fortunate to land Mestemaker in the middle of the first round. Yes, he's slightly inconsistent when going through progressions, and his mechanics need work. But he possesses a great arm and would pair nicely with proven quarterback guru Mike McCarthy.
Late: Darian Mensah, Miami
Arm strength concerns aside, Mensah offers the Steelers arguably one of the most NFL-ready prospects for exceptional late-first value. Mensah possesses elite processing speed, outstanding pocket awareness, and is very calm under pressure.
