The Winnipeg Jets may trade Connor Hellebuyck, and it may happen soon.

It may also be more likely after the Jets signed Stuart Skinner in free agency, a potential veteran replacement.

But here's the problem: The Jets have other veterans on their team who want to win, too.

Will the likes of Kyle Connor and Mark Scheifele be OK with losing their superstar goalie?

That's something Winnipeg has to consider in whatever move it ends up pulling off -- or if the Jets instead choose to stand firm.

"The Jets need a strong return on Hellebuyck to keep current Jets stars such as Mark Scheifele and Kyle Connor, somewhat satisfied," Sportsnet's Nick Kypreos wrote as part of a new article on Wednesday.

If the Jets do this poorly, they could be looking at a nightmare situation.

Imagine a reality where they sell a bit low on Hellebuyck, and their roster simply looks worse.

Maybe that leads Connor to request a trade.

And if Connor does that, would Scheifele follow?

There's nothing reported that would suggest either forward is on the verge of a trade request, but it's very logical that they'd want to play on the best team they could.

A Winnipeg team that trades away Hellebuyck probably isn't getting better.

This is a testy situation for the Jets, one they'd certainly rather not be in, but one they find themselves in anyway.
