Eagles' offseason roster overhaul named as the NFL's best

Every offseason, every NFL fan base convinces itself its team got better. Reality, however, usually falls somewhere in the middle. Some teams overpay in free agency. Others reach during the draft. Even organizations with excellent reputations typically leave analysts debating whether enough was done to improve. That isn't the case with the Philadelphia Eagles this time.
ESPN recently handed out offseason grades for all 32 franchises, and only one organization walked away with a perfect report card. The Eagles were given an 'A', while the Los Angeles Chargers and Miami Dolphins earned respectable A-minus grades. Philadelphia stood alone as the NFL's only club to receive an A.

ESPN believes Howie Roseman struck the right balance
As has become customary, ESPN credited general manager Howie Roseman for another aggressive offseason. The biggest move, of course, was trading A.J. Brown to the New England Patriots for a 2028 first-round selection and a 2027 fifth-round pick.
While acknowledging Philadelphia took a short-term hit offensively, ESPN believed Roseman maximized Brown's value before any significant decline could occur. The Eagles also earned praise for preparing for Brown's departure.
First-round receiver Makai Lemon joins veterans Marquise Brown and Dontayvion Wicks, the latter arriving via trade from the Green Bay Packers. ESPN singled out Wicks as one of the offseason's more intriguing acquisitions, suggesting his production has yet to match his considerable ability to separate from defenders.
As expected, the acquisitions of Jonathan Greenard and Riq Woolen also received rave reviews. Seth Walder, the writer of this one, calls Woolen one of free agency's biggest bargains. Once again, Roseman appears to have positioned the Eagles among the NFL's elite before another snap has even been played. That's to be expected. He's done his job. Now, the coaches and players have to do theirs.
