Central's Cenesca wins 2nd straight state heptathlon

Angela Cenesca, a recent Manchester Central graduate, won the state heptathlon championship for the second straight year last weekend at Nashua High School South.

Cenesca collected 3,910 points to earn the win at the state's 49th annual heptathlon. Nashua South junior Emma Millette (3,691 points), Nashua South graduated senior Sarah Witta (3,323), White Mountains junior Olivia Lorenz (3,314) and Profile School sophomore Isabel Lawton (3,300) rounded out the top five finishers.

Cenesca won both the long jump (16 feet, 5 inches) and 200-meter dash (26.26 seconds) and placed second in both the 100-meter hurdles (16.5) and 800-meter run (2:28.29).

Dana Mussulman, a Phillips Exeter Academy graduated senior, won the state's 69th annual decathlon after accumulating 6,222 points. Nashua South graduated senior Preston Bois (5,684), Keene graduated senior Wayne Crowell (5,628), Winnisquam graduated senior Taber Haggett (5,587) and Nashua North graduated senior Gavin Suchecki (5,469) rounded out the top five.

A Rye resident, Mussulman won the 400 run (51.71), placed second in the pole vault (14' 11 3/4") and took third in both the long jump (19' 5 1/4") and 100 dash (11.68).
