Reports have now indicated that the Boston Celtics could look to move on from Jaylen Brown, a decision that would shock many. Brown, who has had a very impressive career in Boston, including a Finals MVP just a few years ago, is in a position where he might be more appreciated with a different team.

After being the first option for the Celtics this past season and leading them to one of the better records in the Eastern Conference, Brown showed that he has the capability of leading a team in the regular season. His next goal has to be leading a team when it matters most, come playoff time.

It remains uncertain whether he'll ever get that opportunity, but there are some teams where he could be a 1B-type of guy, which would fit in well after doing so with the Celtics. That team would be the San Antonio Spurs, with some suggesting it could make sense for him to want a change of scenery down in Texas.

“By all accounts, Brown's relationship with the Celtics has soured. He's always been option 1-B to Jayson Tatum, despite being slightly more durable and a Finals MVP. Of course, in San Antonio, he would continue to play second fiddle to Victor Wembanyama, although for him, it could be worth it just for the change of scenery,” Jonah Kubicek wrote.

The idea of Brown landing with the Spurs does make sense.

The only problem here, however, is that San Antonio might not want to let go of many of its assets. Right now, the Spurs don't have a compelling reason to make a blockbuster move unless it makes too much sense. Brown is a very good player, but those assets can be valuable down the line.
