The star midfielder was stoic upon receiving the trophy.
"I didn't deserve it, to be honest," Bellingham said. "It probably should have gone to one of their lads who defended so well. Had a couple of moments. It was hard to get into the game. I'm grateful for whoever voted."

Bellingham, playing in his second World Cup at 22 years old, was involved in a viral halftime moment in which he veered to the Ghana bench as the whistle blew and appeared to trade remarks with the rival coaching staff, including manager Carlos Queiroz. He made a handful of tackles before being subbed out for Morgan Rogers in the 73rd minute.
England (1-1) will play Panama next at New York/New Jersey Stadium on June 27 at 5 p.m. on FOX. Both England and Ghana share the top spot in the Group L standings with four points apiece.
