Why the Milwaukee Bucks dealt Giannis to the Miami Heat over the Boston Celtics

The Giannis Antetokounmpo trade saga has finally ended for the Milwaukee Bucks, and the reason it did not end with the Greek Freak being sent to the Boston Celtics has a lot to do with what the Bucks front office had to go through in it, according to new reporting from the Stein Line's Jake Fischer. Evidently, one of the deciding factors in Milwaukee electing to take the mix of young players and draft capital in lieu of what Boston was offering.

And from what we have seen, that was draft capital and Jaylen Brown, the potential for a repeat performance with the Georgia native to what they went through with Giannis a real concern for the Bucks.
"The Bucks eventually went the Miami route because (Milwaukee minority owner Jimmy) Haslam was ultimately urged in the end to seize upon a draft-picks-rich deal as opposed to insisting on getting a star back," writes Fischer.
"That was believed to be Haslam's preference as of Monday morning: Holding out for a certified star as Milwaukee's primary return as we recently witnessed in the Haslam-owned Cleveland Browns' Myles Garrett deal," he continued.
"He was eventually sold on the notion that swapping Antetokounmpo for Jaylen Brown could well have left the Bucks in a similar predicament in the future to what they've faced with Giannis if Brown didn't like Milwaukee and wanted out."
