Tottenham are set to put in a new and improved offer for Sandro Tonali according to a new media update.
Simon Jones at The Mail says that his information is that Tottenham had an opening bid of £75m rejected by Newcastle United and that now they are coming back with a higher second offer.

Jones says he also understands that Newcastle United are trying to bring in Kees Smit as Tonali’s replacement.
In his ‘Exclusive’, the man from The Mail says Newcastle are trying to land the exciting 20-year-old Dutch midfielder ahead of a host of other clubs and that it could take £60m+ to get a deal done for the AZ Alkmaar star.
Kees Smit has been regularly linked with Newcastle United and for sure appears to have been a long-term target for NUFC.
Interesting to read Simon Jones raising the (very likely!) possibility that other more credible buying clubs are sitting back and letting Tottenham do the legwork, to see whether Newcastle United will agree a transfer fee for Sandro Tonali. Then Arsenal and/or Manchester City to come in and do a deal at that level for the Italy international.
